Morning Café

Oh how I love a good cup of coffee in the morning. But not quite as much as Catalan culture embodies café in the morning. Drinking coffee in Spain is such a great ritualistic morning routine and tradition.

Coffee isn’t just a leisurely way Catalans begin their mornings. Drinking coffee is a very social occurence. A morning coffee with a rolled cigarette is a sacred and cherished quality time as well as a bonding activity, as we learned from my great teacher Mr. Alcon himself.

Coffee isn’t meant to be washed down to wake up, but rather to be slowly enjoyed with company. I love this about Catalan culture.
