Els Castells, or the human towers, is a famous Catalan traditional activity. Human towers represent teamwork, cooperation, and unity in Catalan culture.
In this event, people stack on top of one another from largest to smallest to create a tower. Children are almost always on top. It was quite beautiful how the towers look when completed.
I got to witness and participate in creating a human tower when I traveled to the city of Tarragona which is another city in Catalonia. I had such a good time and this was truly something I had never done before, so I am glad I get to say that I have experienced something such as this now.
