Museu Picasso de Barcelona

I went to the Museu Picasso de Barcelona. I have always been interested in art so of course, when I arrived in Barcelona I wanted to visit the Picasso museum. This was a special visit as well because I attended during St. Eulalia Day. This is a holiday in Barcelona that honors the famous female saint in Catalan culture, so I got to attend for free.

I thought Picasso’s paintings were extremely different and odd, but that is what makes them unique. His paintings represent a darker side of the poor, working-class society of Barcelona during his lifetime. His paintings were very famous during the Modernismo movement. Many of his paintings are inspired by dark topics that are very sexual like his mistresses and prostitution. But hey, he is one of the most famous Spanish artists to date and I got witness his artwork it was a fantastic experience!
